A feeble attempt at meeting the assignment!

I'm playing catch up.... lots going on at Liberty Hill, but I hope to keep up with my "assignments" from now on!  Here is a smattering of photos from the last little while.

my sister's charming back yard, earlier this spring at Liberty Hill, cheddar cheese loaf baked in a dutch oven, eggy-cheesy-spinach-tomato goodness, Miss Susie

I plan to follow this week's assignment more closely...

  1. Hi Kathie this is a fantastic start. Those poppies are stunning you know how I love poppies. Aren't you glad that you have a blog ? Look forward to more snippets of your life. Much love S & Gang

ps that's exactly why I think a good strap is such a good idea - I'm a bit militant on that issue and so far you're the only one who put their hands up - I got a strap ;-)

  2. Hi Kathie
I love your poppy photos too, beautiful composition. For more impact on your blog try to increase the photo size to xl. I would suggest as a place to start that you choose a subject and try to look at in many different ways and in different lighting situations. Find the best window in your home that gives the most natural light. shoot with lights on then lights off and check the difference. Of course I am assuming you have a digital camera? Just play away and keep clicking the shutter! If you love to do this it will start to be like a fun game. Talk soon! Dalyce

  4. The food photos look just delicious...yummy! And the kitty so sweet. I especially enjoyed the flowers since most everything here in my neck of the woods is drought worn...and brown and dead.
I like Miss Susie's idea of a cat nap...

  6. Thanks for the recipe, I will try it in the Fall. I've made some of these high-hydration no-knead breads before, and I've read about baking them inside a dutch oven but not done it yet myself. Your crust looks amazing! Thanks for sharing the recipe!

  7. I'm so sorry for not commenting on your photo challenge pix before, the memory seems to deteriorate every day. I love the soft gentle light in the flower image and that ginger cat looks adorable. Perhaps though he's not as angelic as he looks? My old cat used to act friendly and demure to visitors until they started stroking him, then he changed into a spitfire.
